    This tip is outdated : you can load CSV data easily in EDT version 2.3 and above, using the load data tab in the EDT Task Configuration

    Here is a how-to tip showing you how to easily validate and upload CSV data.

    Here is a sample of CSV data

    1/ Copy the entire contents of the CSV file into the clipboard

    2/ Paste the data into the top left cell of new Excel sheet

    3/ From the Data tab, select Text to Columns:

    4/ Select Delimited file type:
    Delimited

    5/ Select Comma as the delimeter:
    Delimited

    6/ Copy all rows except the header:
    Delimited

    7/ Paste into the first row of your Excel to database Task
    Delimited

    As you can see values are validated and any mising data is highlighted if you have marked the columns as mandatory in your Excel to database task.
